Nominations are invited from the Library and Information Service (LIS) professionals for the ICAL-2023 awards latest by 25th March, 2023 in prescribed application form available at https://ical2023.du.ac.in.
The awards will be given under the following five categories.
ICAL-2023 Promising Researcher Award
The following criteria will be applied while selecting the best paper. (The participants/delegates registered need not apply for this award)
Conference Best Paper Award will be given at ICAL – 2023 conference. The first / presenting author or main contributor will get this award. The author’s age should not be more than 50 years.
The ICAL-2023 Library Service Innovation Award is meant for library professionals who are in the early stage of their careers and have contributed significantly in bringing innovative practices in their field. This award will be given to a LIS professional who has the potential to become leaders in their field. The applicants’ age should be below 35 years (as on April 2023).
Following will be the determinant factors for the purpose of selecting candidates for this award.
Following parameters will be used for the purpose of selecting the awardee. a) Uniqueness of the innovative practices adopted. b) Impact of such processes on the wider library community. It would be verified how the outcomes of such practices can benefit the users. Leadership quality of the applicant in developing and implementing exemplary programs which other libraries can emulate. And to what extent the applicant has been able to establish an embedded relationship with the faculty and the students.
The applicant should submit their curriculum vitae with all possible details which can be examined meticulously by the members of the jury. The innovative measures and practices and their visible outcome should be explained in considerable detail with live examples which can be verified by the members of the Award Committee.
ICAL-2023 Life Time Achievement Award is a prestigious award. It is to be conferred to a senior professional who has retired or on the verge of retirement from active full time service. Nomination for this award can be invited from a select group of senior professionals on the basis of their past achievements, experience and reputation. In order to get an wider choice, the Award Committee may consult a peer group to get some useful advice regarding who could be the best choice for this award.
Citation for the award can be prepared by consulting the peer group members or by scrutinizing the profile of the person from various Internet based sources and social media platforms.
